VOLUNTEER

The Sanctuary Women, Children and Pet’s Refuge fills the void in emergency housing for victims of domestic violence on the Gold Coast. Since opening our doors in 2016 we have been at full capacity every week.

We support women and children to help them overcome trauma and develop the skills, knowledge and confidence required to regain control of their lives. The women have access to specialised counselling, life skills training, providing access to a full range of medical services, including a visiting Doctor, Psychologist, Pre-natal Counselling, and Massage Therapist.

Our volunteers come from all walks of life and backgrounds. Our volunteers are the backbone of our charity and we are always on the lookout for new members. Volunteering is a great way to help people in need, whilst having fun, meeting new people, enhancing your skills and improving your own health and well-being. Having no government funding we rely heavily on our volunteers to assist with the day-to-day operation of the charity.

Whether it’s working behind the scenes on marketing, administration, grant applications or supervising play for children while mum is in counselling, we have multiple volunteer opportunities designed to fit your schedule. We would love to hear from you and welcome you as a part of our community.

WORKPLACE GIVING

Workplace giving is an incredibly powerful way for individuals and businesses to make a huge difference to the lives of many women and children.
